Corrections, Removal and Profile Claims
Last updated . Draft pending legal review. Also as Markdown.
We want LenDb to be accurate and fair to the loan officers in it. This page explains what you can change, what we keep, and how to ask.
1. Report a mistake
Anyone can report something that is wrong: a loan officer, a lender, a borrower or a journalist. Use the contact form on LenDb.ai (choose "Correction") or email bot@lendb.ai. Please include the profile link or NMLS ID, what is wrong, and a source if you have one (for example a link to the lender's page or a regulator's record).
2. What loan officers can remove
A loan officer, or their employer on their behalf, can ask us to remove:
- office phone, business email and other contact details;
- their headshot;
- the bio summary;
- voice or video intros and transcripts;
- links to social profiles or personal websites;
- anything they added themselves after claiming the profile;
- reviews they wrote (not reviews about them; see below).
Once removed, we will not re-add the same item from a later crawl unless you ask us to.
3. What stays, and why
Some information is public regulatory information that the law requires to be available so consumers can check who they are dealing with. We keep it, but we correct it if it is wrong:
- name and NMLS ID;
- current employer and branch location;
- licensed states, license numbers, status and dates;
- public regulatory or disciplinary actions, with a link to the source document.
If you believe one of these is wrong, send us the correct source and we will fix it. If an employment record is out of date (for example you changed lenders), tell us and we will update it.
If you are no longer licensed and want your profile taken down, tell us. We will mark it inactive and remove contact details, the headshot and the bio, and we will consider removing the page entirely.
4. Claim your profile
Loan officers can claim their profile for free. To verify you, we send a one-time link to an email address published for your NMLS ID on your current lender's website. If that does not work, we can verify you manually with a business card or a screenshot of your lender page.
After claiming, you can edit your specialties, bio, languages, headshot and links. These show right away, labeled self-reported. You cannot edit sourced facts such as licenses, employment or regulatory actions, but you can flag them for correction. Claiming a profile is free and does not change how ranking works.
5. Images and copyright
If you own a photo, bio or other content shown on LenDb and want it removed, contact us with the page link and a short statement that you own it or are authorized to act for the owner. We will remove it promptly.
6. Reviews
When reviews launch: loan officers can respond publicly to a review and flag it. Flagged reviews get a human review. We remove reviews that are fake, abusive, contain personal data or break our guidelines. We do not remove honest negative reviews, and nobody can pay to have a review removed.
7. How fast we respond
We aim to respond to and resolve correction and removal requests within 7 days. Requests that need more checking (for example a disputed regulatory record) may take longer, and we will tell you if so. Our crawler may take a little longer to stop picking up a change on a lender's website, but removed items are blocked from coming back.
8. Privacy requests
To ask what we hold about you, or to use other privacy rights, see our Privacy Policy.
